Shane Remol Thudium

Shane Remol Thudium was born on November 12,1953, in Chippewa Falls, WI, daughter of John and Eleanor Remol. Her family located to Brookfield when she was in the 3rd grade and her father took the helm of the JC Penney on Main Street. Shane's leadership career began as early as middle school when, upon the establishment of the first Middle School Student Council, she was elected the first president. That leadership continued into high school serving on student council, as a member of many school and community organizations, chosen Homecoming Queen 1971, and was a varsity cheerleader. Upon graduation from BHS in 1972, Shane attended William Woods College in Fulton, MO, married Bill Thudium in 1975, and graduated from college in 1976 with a BS degree in Business Administration. They are the proud parents of 3 children - all of which are BHS graduates who returned to Brookfield upon their college graduations, and all 10 grandchildren are presently in the Brookfield R-III School. Shane served as Director of the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce and Fee Agent for the License Bureau for nine years. She then became Adult Education Coordinator at the Brookfield Area Career Center. Shane was responsible for coordinating night classes and assisting high school students and adults prepare for their futures until her retirement in 2017. In spite of her retirement, Shane still continues to assist with the Linn County Area Career and Technical Center a few hours a week. In 2005, Shane signed on as one of the coordinators for Leadership Brookfield, a local leadership training program that has received statewide recognition. Shane and her entire family are her testament to the love and dedication she examples for the Brookfield community and its future - her leadership role in Brookfield began almost 50 years ago and continues to this day.
