Dr. Gary G. Forrest

Dr. Gary G. Forrest was born on December 1, 1943 and was a member of the Brookfield High School Class of 1961. He continued his education on a full-tuition athletic(track)/academic scholarship at Westminster College, Fulton, Mo., earning a B.A. in Psychology, then went on to earn an M.ed. in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Missouri , Ed.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of North Dakota, a drug education diploma from the University of Oklahoma, and his PhD. in Alcohol Studies from Columbia Pacific University in San Rafael, CA.

In 1971, First Lt. Forrest served as Clinical Director of the Alcohol Abuse component of the US Army’s first Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation program at Ft. Gordon, GA. He is an internationally known clinical psychologist and heads the Psychotherapy Associates, P.D. and Institute for Addictive Behavioral Change in Colorado Springs, CO.

For 39 years Gary has hosted a symposium for addictive disorders and is a noted author and educator working with the leading doctors of behavioral and mental health. He is a recognized expert in drug and alcohol additions. He has been honored with the Alumni Achievement Award and the Student Government Association Alumni Award, Westminster College, Distinguished Alumnus Award at the University of North Dakota, and in 1987, was honored with a Brookfield city street being named in his honor –“Forrest Drive” to the west of the Pershing Memorial Hospital.

Gary and his wife, Sandy, are proud parents of two daughters, Sarah Ellen and Allison.
