Donna Sproul Hulett

Donna Sproul Hulett was born January 14, 1952, in Washington, D.C., daughter of Donald and Mary Sproul. She married Roger Hulett on August 7, 1976, and they are proud parents to two children, Joshua and Jordan (Hulett) Lichtenberg, and six grandchildren. Donna was a 1969 BHS graduate, where she was a varsity cheerleader, Student Council Treasurer, yearbook staff, concert band and choir member. She graduated from the University of Missouri - Columbia where she was a member of Delta Gamma sorority. She earned a Bachelor Degree in Business Education and later a Masters degree in Secondary Education from UM-KC. Her teaching career began in Jacksonville, FL, Sandalwood High School, where she also began her coaching career. Upon returning home to Missouri, she taught for two years in the Liberty School System and 27 years in the Platte County School District until her retirement in 2008. She was proud to have coached cheerleaders for 22 years with her squads winning many national and regional awards throughout the years. She served on the MSHSAA cheer advisory board, was a cheer rules interpreter for the state of Missouri, chairman of State Business contest, and with her son, Josh, established the Platte County High School Swim team in 1994. Donna was Miss Brookfield 1973, Miss Ray County 1974, served at various regional and national levels of leadership in Delta Gamma fraternity, Kappa Delta Phi civic sorority, PTA, and Good Shepherd Catholic Church of Smithville. Upon their return to Brookfield in 2013, Donna became involved as a member of Athena Club, Mothers Club, Lions Club, PEO, a Leadership Academy graduate, Main Street Revitalization Committee, Brookfield Area Growth Partnership, served as Chamber of Commerce Director for over 3 years, is Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary president, and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Parish Council member and liturgy organist. Donna was a founding member of the BHS Alumni Association in 2009 and established the BHS Hall of Fame that same year. She was named "Brookfield Citizen of the Year – Leadership" in 2018.
